550 paracord necklaces have been one of our most requested items, and we wanted to offer something a little less bulky and more unique. You can have up to 3 colors – or just one — your choice. 18″ is the default length, with 20″, 22″, 24″, or 26″ also available.
Unlike necklaces you can find elsewhere, ours is not a simple three-color braid. Instead, our design is more complicated, as evidenced by the requests we receive asking how exactly we knot this one up. But, of course, you know how that goes — if I tell you, I’d have to…
Don’t worry about putting paracord around your neck — we’ve got you covered with a safety break-away clasp for fast deployment and quick release if needed. Due to safety and liability concerns, our Garrote 550 Paracord Necklaces are only available with our break-away clasp.

For safety reasons our necklaces only come with our safety break-away clasp. Paracord is so durable the last thing we want is someone getting caught up and/or strangled by one of our necklaces.
What type of 550 Military Paracord do you use?
All of my products are made to order by me right here in the U.S.A. with mil-spec MIL-C-5040H type III requirement cord and have a minimum breaking strength of 550 pounds (550 cord).
Not all paracord is created equal -- especially the sub-par cord from overseas. My 550 parachute cord comes from the same U.S. factory that is a government contractor to supply the military, so quality is assured. We use the actual paracord our service men and women rely on every day!
There is approximately 1" of paracord for every inch of knotting. This does vary slightly depending on the knot. If you were to disassemble your item you could use the cord and the strands within for all kinds of outdoor and, yes, survival applications.
How long will it take to make my item(s)?
With that said, USPS is even more inefficient than usual. Plan on extended delivery times once your order is on the way. You will be provided a tracking number so that you can keep an eye on your package as USPS plods along. Be sure to add our email address "support at paracordpaul.com" to your address book so that our emails get through.
Due to the amount of knotting required on larger orders and dog leashes, these orders will take more time, so plan on an additional 7-10 days. If you have a specific in-house date don't hesitate to reach out and let us know!
